Date: September 30, 2011, Venue: Foodcourt (II Floor)
The inaugural event in the 2011-12 academic year for the Section is a mix of both the old and new. Robotics is still a sought after branch of engineering, and hence memories of a cherished competition (Teknobotts) are still bright. In a new incarnation, the event 'Robo Tech' requires participating teams to build a simple motor-driven robotic car. The robot should be able to traverse a track (unseen) which may be made of clay, water, pebbles, and is able to push a target element (say a stone or ball) along a portion of the circuit.
In order to have a fair chance at victory, the robotic car should complete a circuit in the least time possible. As the event is a single-round affair, ranking will be decided by time alone. Rules for participants is as follows:
- The car should fit in a box of (25cm × 25cm × 25cm).
- A team can comprise of a maximum of 5 students.
- Motors used cannot have a speed of more than 100 rpm.
